James R. Oppenhuizen

James R. Oppenhuizen, a partner with the firm, focuses his practice in the area of Bankruptcy and Divorce. He is a native of West Michigan. Jim is a graduate of Calvin College and received his law degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law, graduating cum laude . He is admitted to practice in the Michigan State Courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Michigan and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.

While in law school, he served as an Editor of the Valparaiso University Law Review. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.

 In 2013, Jim became certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by The American Board of Certification.
